You do not need to own a vessel to be part of the day. The official charter is the simplest way to leave the navigation and docking plan to the crew while you focus on the island experience.
Charter space may be limited, so reserve early and review the organizer’s boarding instructions before Saturday. Guests should confirm the departure location, boarding time, included amenities, prohibited items, and return schedule directly on the signup page.
Leave outside food and drinks at home. Beer Can Island will have a full bar and food menu available, making it easy to eat, sip, and enjoy the day without packing a cooler. Glass containers are strictly prohibited, so do not bring bottles, glassware, or any other glass items onto the island.

What to bring for a Tampa Bay island day
Pack light, but do not skip the essentials:
- Government-issued ID and charter confirmation, if applicable
- Sun protection, including reef-conscious sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat
- A dry bag for phones, keys, and valuables
- Towels and water-friendly footwear
- A charged phone and a marine radio or other reliable communication device for vessel operators
- Proper life jackets and all required safety gear for your vessel and passengers
- Trash bags—whatever comes to the island should leave with you
Food, Drinks & the No-Glass Policy
Do not pack outside food, drinks, coolers containing food or beverages, or anything made of glass. A full food menu and bar will be available on the island. Guests should follow all posted service rules and bring a valid ID if they plan to purchase alcoholic beverages.
Beer Can Island is a boating destination, so plan for changing weather, shallow water, currents, and busy vessel traffic. Operators should check the Tampa Bay marine forecast, follow marked channels and posted slow-speed zones, protect seagrass and wildlife, and never operate a vessel while impaired.
